KW Gymnastics dominated at Canadaís largest invitation gymnastics competition bringing home a total of 65 medals

A team of 26 gymnasts from KW Gymnastics Club in Kitchener competed this weekend at the 2014 Burlington Spring Cup, Canada's largest invitational gymnastics competition with over 1,500 athletes and coaches. The Club dominated among the various competitive levels it represented this weekend, bringing home a total of 65 first, second and third place medals, with 7 all-around category champions. This is the third meet in a row this season where the Club has led the competition within its categories and age groups. 


Judge wins gold at Eastern Canadian championships

Graeme Judge's strong season in gymnastics continued on the weekend with a gold medal at the Eastern Canadian championships.

The KW Gymnastics Club athlete finished first in the pommel horse at the competition in Oshawa. He also was fifth on rings and seventh on vault, and finished eighth overall.

Teammate Jack Carere was fifth on vault and seventh on floor, and finished eleventh overall.

Judge and Carere also received bronze medals as members of the third-place Ontario team in the team competition.


KW gymnasts win six all-around firsts

Six gymnasts from the KW Gymnastics Club were all-around winners at the Milton Springer Challenge Invitational meet last weekend.

Wynne Allen, competing in the Level 6, age 10 division, and Nyla Moua, Level 4, age nine, were clean sweeps with firsts in vault, bars, beam, floor and all-around.


KW gymnasts advance to Eastern Canadian championships

Jack Carere and Graeme Judge of the KW Gymnastics Club have advanced to the Eastern Canadian men's artistic gymnastics championships after strong performances at the provincial championships in Windsor on the weekend.

Carere won the all-around competition in the Level 3, 13-plus age category with first-place finishes on parallel bars and high bars, second on pommel horse, third on rings and floor, and a fifth place on vault.

Judge finished sixth all around, with a first-place finish on pommel horse and sixth on vault.


KW club hosting menís gymnastics qualifier

KITCHENER – More than 400 male gymnasts will compete in Kitchener this weekend at a qualifying meet for the Ontario championships.

Competition will begin Friday at noon and continue through Sunday at the KW Gymnastics Club at 805 Victoria St. S.

Athletes aged eight and up will compete in six routines: floor exercises, pommel horse, rings, vault, parallel bars and horizontal bar.
